Long Time No See...

I promise I will be back soon with some updates. I actually have quite a bit going on lately that needs to be shared. In the meantime, I just had to share this awesome poster I bought for our family room.

What's Up...

Things have been crazy around here lately. I did end up taking both Thursday and Friday off last week and so did E. Thursday morning we were up bright and early to have one of our trees cut down. We spent the morning outside talking and drinking coffee while we watched our tree be taken down branch by branch. After that was done we went to Chipotle for lunch and then headed out to pick out some new trees. We ended up getting an Pin Oak and a Pagoda Dogwood for our backyard and a Redbud tree for our front yard. That night we grilled, had a few drinks and watched some TV.

Friday we went to The Friend School Plant Sale at the MN State Fairgrounds. We loaded up. We actually went through the entire sale twice. E got a bunch of shrubs, some perennials, some annuals and a bunch of veggies. We actually got 10 different tomato plants, 6 different pepper plants and a ton of strawberry plants. I am also going to have a huge basil garden going on this year. 8 different plants!

The rest of the weekend entailed gardening, sushi eating, more gardening, some more grilling and then another trip to the plant sale where we got some random stuff (like an artichoke plant) and 2 peony plants.

I got back to work on Monday to quite a few changes. A few of my co-workers were no longer there! One quit and one was terminated. (Unfortunately it wasn't the annoying dude : ( ) Bummer!

Anyway, I know it was a long recap. I will post pictures of the garden, trees etc soon. This weekend hopefully the weather will shape up a bit so we can continue my grilling streak. This weekend we are going to be making shrimp and steak fajitas. We are also going to try a nice sangria made with Vinho Verde, grapes and green apples. Oh, and margaritas of course. : )

Speaking of Crazy...

So on top of considering going to work tomorrow I am also considering doing a cleanse. I want to do the BluePrint cleanse, but it is too expensive. I think that I am going to do the cleanse that Gweneth Paltrow wrote about on GOOP. It sounds pretty good and seems to be more filling than the Master Cleanse. The only thing is how am I going to do that and keep up my summer of grilling plan? I guess I could do grilled chicken or fish, veggies and fruit for the length of the cleanse.

I think that I will start on Monday and have have one last weekend of deliciously bad food like some chili cheese sausage. Yum.

Why...

Am I tempted to go in to work tomorrow when I am supposed to be off until Monday? I think that I am crazy. Plain crazy.

I am hoping that when I wake up tomorrow that the feeling will have passed, but I am also thinking that I might end up going in for at least a half day.

To Cap Off A Great Week...

This afternoon I checked my checking account to see if something had posted to my account and noticed that I was negative by $115.00. I hardly ever use that account and couldn't for the life of me think of what I could have spent that much money on.

After looking into it a bit more I realized that some ass hat had stolen my credit card number and decided to drain the account dry. Lucky for me I only had about $400.00 in that account. There was a large charge from Overstock.com and another smaller charge from Domino's Pizza. I called the bank to cancel the card and to file a claim for my money and then called both Domino's and Overstock. Both places were relatively nice about the whole thing. Overstock.com said they had already flagged it as fraud since the card number was the only valid piece of info used. The best part is it appears that the a-hole that stole the card number is local and was stupid enough to use his own address. Domino's told me that the charge was for a delivery and they also had the address. Should make it easy for the police to track the moron down. Luckily the majority of the money will be refunded automatically since Overstock caught the charge and didn't process the order any further. The rest of the money should be back in my account soon.

Hopefully my weekend goes a little bit better than my week did.
