As Carrie Would Say...

Hello Lover.

I called T-Mobile to find out how much the new BB Curve would be and discovered I could get the new iPhone for less. Of course I had to buy it from Ebay, but it will be mine sometime next week!

I Want...

These speakers from Urban Outfitters. How funny are these? I am thinking that I might need these for our upstairs.

I Want...

Winter to be over!!!

We got dumped on with snow today. My drive to work and back was miserable.

I did have a few surprises when I got home tonight though. Lizzie sent me an amazing necklace because she is awesome!

I also got my cute little wine cups today. I can't wait until E and I check out the wine sale this weekend so I can stock up and use the cups.

I am pretty glad that the weekend is almost here. We are going to make some fajitas, some margaritas and crank the heat and pretend it is summer.

What are your middle names?
Mine is Lynn, E's is Jon.

How long have you been together?
11 years in July.

How long did you know each other before you started dating?
Technically we have known one another since we were in elementary school.

We were set up on a blind date by two of my friends.

How old are each of you?
E is 27 and I am 26.

Whose siblings do you see the most?
We see E's brother and my younger brother and his wife equally.

Which situation is the hardest on you as a couple?
I would say the fact that we work completely different hours.

Same high school, same university. Boring.

Are you from the same home town?
Yep.

Who is smarter?
E is 110% smarter than I am.

Who is the most sensitive?
I am. Hands down.

Where do you eat out most as a couple?

Haha. Buffalo Wild Wings.

Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
Orlando.

Who has the craziest exes?
Uh... we don't have exes.

Who has the worst temper?
That is a toss up. We both have pretty bad tempers.

We usually cook for ourselves unless its the weekends, then we cook together.

Who is the neat-freak?
Neither of us is a neat-freak.

Who is more stubborn?
Both of us are stubborn as well.

Neither of us, really.

Not very long.

We do our own laundry. Well, sometimes I do his, but he usually does his own. And never touches mine.

Who’s better with the computer?

E is better.

Who drives when you are together?
He does, because I make him.

I Want...

All of my packages to get here!

I have packages coming from Anthropologie, Zappos (new running shoes), this guy (cute little wine glasses), my necklush is still on its way, and I ordered a bunch of books from Amazon Marketplace yesterday. I got The Year of Living Biblically, More Great Recipes from Foster's Market, Giada's Kitchen: New Italian Favorites, The Food You Crave, and Williams-Sonoma Essentials of Healthful Eating. Since I got them used I got all of those books for about the same as one of the cookbooks new. Go me!

I know I went on a little shopping bender, but I needed new clothes because the ones I currently own are getting big, I was in serious need of new running shoes (the last time I bought new ones I was a freshman in college) I thought the healthy eating cookbooks would motivate me to try some new healthy food and I just really wanted those cute wine glasses. : )

Does anyone else use the recommended blogs section on Google Reader? I just love that feature. I get really excited when I see that it has new suggestions in there. I just love discovering new blogs! I have been reading a lot of design blogs to get new ideas for my home renovations. From one blog I found a new paint color for our upstairs family room and E liked it too. We were planning on painting it Electric Blue, but have now decided on a Midnight Blue instead. Hopefully we can get this painting started soon. I will post before and after pictures so you can all see the transformation.

Help...

When E and I were visiting my parents yesterday I finally picked up my Christmas gift from our family's gift exchange. My older sister J had my name and as I have mentioned before we are not close. Pretty much the only thing we share is DNA. She gave me a bottle of Rhubarb wine (hate rhubarb, but willing to give this a shot) and a Kohl's gift card. I think I have shopped at Kohl's twice and all I bought was a desk calendar and a pair of earrings. This is where your help comes in. I need some ideas on what to get!

I wish that this weekend hadn't gone by so quickly. I hate that Monday always seems to come so quickly. I will have to think of some fun things to do this coming weekend to give me something to look forward to.

This trench by Laundry by Shelli Segal.

I didn't make it to the Anthropologie store today since E took the car to work, but I did manage to visit their online sale. I ended up ordering a bunch of stuff. I still have a few things on my wish list from there too.

I Want...

It to be 10 pm so I can:

Watch the Grey's/Private Practice crossover finale.

Start my weekend. (I am thinking I will take the day off tomorrow)

Spend some quality time with E.

Cook some yummy dinner and chillax. (Yes, I said chillax)

Work has been so long and tedious lately and most of my co-workers have been in full on bitch mode for the last few weeks. It makes going to work suck all the more. I need a break! E and I are going to visit our families on Saturday so that pretty much kills that day. I hate using PTO so early, but I really need this break.

Oh, and I might head to Maple Grove's gigantic shopping complex to visit the Anthropologie store since Lizzie almost had a stroke when I said I had never shopped there before : )

I Want...

I have never purchased anything from Anthropologie. I think they have lots of great stuff so I am not really sure why I have never shopped there. Anyway, I was looking at their website last night and saw this. I want it. I just might get it.

I Want...

This cute dress by Haute Hippie. Found at Nordstrom.

I would never be able to pull this look off, but I think it is fantastic.

Energy Bars...

Since I started trying to lose weight and eat better I have fallen into a rut. The majority of my meals consist of sandwiches, Lean Cuisines and salads. When I first started I tried some different recipes, but during the week I don't really have time to cook.

When I first wake up in the morning I am never really hungry so I usually wait until I get to work to eat and almost always grab a sandwich, some sushi or a salad. I usually don't eat that stuff right away so I tend to eat breakfast/lunch really close to when I eat dinner. I have been looking for something that I can eat when I get to work that isn't quite lunch and something that will tide me over until dinner.

Anyway...

I have tried PowerBars (gross), Lara Bars (gross) Fiber One Bars (yum, but too small) and yesterday I gave it one last shot and tried a Luna Bar. Holy Yum. I had a white chocolate macadamia nut bar and it was super good and it was almost the perfect size. It was more like a granola bar than the other energy bar type things I tried and it didn't taste like cardboard. This morning I tried a frosted oatmeal raisin bar and that one is good too. If anyone else has tried these are there any flavors you recommend? Or any other "diet" type foods to get me out of my rut?

Do you have any questions for me, anything that you would like to know?

Leave me a comment with a question, some feedback, some music I could listen to while running on the treadmill ANYTHING.

I Wanted...

I got. Did you guys know that Old Navy sold such cute boots? I certainly didn't.

My plans for today didn't go exactly as planned. HomeGoods had a bunch of rugs, but I couldn't find one that I liked.

At Slumberland we got into a fight about what we were going to get, when we should get it, if we actually needed it etc. I ended up getting pissed that E was being so stubborn and walked out. After talking it out we decided that we would paint the entire room, put in the baseboards and built book shelves and then order the furniture and stuff. We will be getting a replacement futon mattress and either a leather recliner or a sectional sofa that comes in five individual pieces (to fit through the narrow doorway.)

I did buy a cute little tray from World Market to put on top of my dresser to store perfume, sunglasses and other odds and ends. Oh, and I bought E a giant package of chopsticks.

I also bought myself a treadmill today to get my ass in shape. I am not sure if I mentioned before just how much I hate the gym and how sure I was that I would never actually go. I just decided that instead of shelling out hundreds of dollars for a membership I would never use I would spend the money once, get a treadmill and work out at home.

Sunday Plans...

I am going to start the day with some yummy brunch and a big cup of coffee.

Then E and I will be heading to the furniture store to get a new futon mattress and another seat of some sort. More than likely we will be getting a chair and an ottoman since the doorway to our upstairs living room is only 28 inches wide. Poop.(Yes, I said poop.)

I am hoping that we will also make a stop at HomeGoods to look at an area rug for our formal living room and maybe get some other odds and ends.

All of the World Market's in MN are going out of business (sad holla) so we will also be stopping there to see what kind of stuff we can get on clearance.

I am also willing to guess that we will be making a stop at Barnes and Noble to look at books, magazines and to get more coffee.

Rock of Love Bus, Desperate Housewives and Brothers and Sisters are all on tomorrow as well so you know what we will be doing tomorrow night.

Work today sucked hard. I am really REALLY glad I don't have to work another Saturday for quite awhile.

If the weather stays nice this coming weekend I am hoping to get the priming and painting started. There is a lot to get done. The upstairs room is huge.

Yay! I was tagged by Laurie at Newly-Wedded Wife

Here are the rules:
1) Go to the 4th folder in my computer where you store your pictures.
2) Pick the 4th picture in that folder.
3) Explain the picture.
4) Tag 4 people to do the same.

Obviously this is a picture of TJ. E took this picture of him (and my arm) the day that we adopted TJ.

I have to tag 4 people so here goes, HDizz, Lizzie, Emma, and Stephanie

I will post again later with my Want post.

I Want...

New flip flops. I can't decide between these

and these
I am leaning toward the pink though. What do you guys think?
In other news, I have been suffering from stomach flu like symptoms since Thursday. Since I got sick there I realized there are a few things that I won't be eating again for quite awhile. The list includes
Turkey sandwiches from work
Kettle Chips
egg rolls
wontons
7-Up
jalapenos
anything with cream cheese
pretty much anything that has been deep fried
McDonald's
So I guess this list consists mostly of stuff I shouldn't be eating anyway so that's good.
I don't know if I mentioned this or not but our friend N brought over a deep fryer on Saturday night and everyone brought stuff to cook up. J made homemade egg rolls and wontons, A brought stuff to make cheese curds, E made jalapeno poppers etc. I had a wonton and an egg roll and I don't know if I will ever be able to eat those things again after this weekend. I swear, every time I think of the egg rolls that she made my stomach churns. My house also reeked of grease all night and all day yesterday which is beyond sick.
Since Thursday I have lost another 4 lbs making my total weight lost... 21 lbs! I am sure that this new loss won't last since I haven't really eaten anything in the last 3 days other than yogurt and pistachio ice cream, but I am happy and am even more motivated than ever.

I Want...

To not have another damaged piece of furniture in this house!

  • First there was my dining room table that got scorched on Thanksgiving.

  • Then there was the end table that got damaged due to E not paying attention when watering his plants.

  • Now there is the futon. I had to throw out the mattress this morning after one of our friends had a drunken accident on it in the middle of the night. (I am sure you can all figure out where I am going with this.)

We got the futon from E's mom and dad as a housewarming gift and I thought the mattress was an actual mattress, but it was a suede cover filled with stuffing like a pillow would have. We are going to get a new mattress for it with a color that will match our new color scheme and possibly pick out a new couch while we are at it.

What I should wish for is some friends that can act like adults.

I was hoping that I could post something fun like shoes or a new bag, maybe tomorrow. Remember, NaBloPoMo's theme for February is Wants.
