Paint and Other Odds and Ends...

I had the day off yesterday so I decided to get up early, run to Home Depot and get my paint and supplies and start painting. What really happened was I went to Caribou first to get coffee, then went to Home Depot, then went to Cub to get food for our BBQ, then went to another Home Depot to get the other paint color I needed since the first one didn't have the right base to mix it, then stopped off at Old Navy and THEN went home to start painting. I did manage to get the entire stairwell and part of the ceiling painted yesterday. Last night was our first BBQ of the season. Brats, brat burgers, sauerkraut, potato salad and broccoli slaw. Yum! We capped off the night by watching the Twins win.

Today we both got up super early, made another run to Home Depot and then I started painting again. Let me say that I hope that I never have to see another paint brush again. Unfortunately I will be painting again tomorrow. My major issue is that our upstairs walls are extremely textured. The ENTIRE room. The walls weren't too bad, I had a roller with a 1.25 nap on it so that wasn't too bad, but the ceiling is something else. We have a somewhat vaulted ceiling too and it is sloped so it seems huge. I painted from about 11 am until 5 pm and I only got half of the ceiling done. I have to brush paint the entire freaking thing.

The other issue is the stairwell and the ceiling are Porpoise by Behr and the walls were going to be Behr's Mystical Shade. I was going for a dark blue look, but the text shade on the outside of the can looks more purple. I also really REALLY love the gray color and kind of want to paint the entire room gray. However, E doesn't want an entirely gray room. Decisions decisions. I am going to break open the 2ND color tomorrow and see how I feel about it. If I don't like it I will go back to the drawing board I guess.

Tonight E went to a party and I am just taking it easy at home. I forgot how bad one's body hurts after painting all day. I just watched part of Coachella 2006 on MHD and am thinking about watching the Twilight move. While watching Coachella I remembered how much I love the Flaming Lips. I will have to listen to them more often.
