This Thanksgiving...

I am thankful for all of the typical stuff. Family, friends, my house, pets etc etc... but I am most thankful though for this .

This news means that for the time being, I can make some additional income and I can take a breather from worrying about losing my job.

Call me shallow, but this was the best news I had heard in a long time.

Random Updates...

Its been awhile since I have updated. I haven't really had much to say. I feel like my days are on repeat and nothing new happens.

This past Friday E and I both had the day off. We had planned on taking my car in to get one of the wheels checked out. The car repair place didn't have the right part though so that ended up not happening until Saturday.

We managed to get all of the food items we are going to need for Thanksgiving dinner. We also decided that we would invite C, A and JB over for dinner that night since they will all be alone on the holiday. I am excited to cook a bunch of food and spend time with my friends. We decided not to go to our hometown for Thanksgiving because of the driving, having to have 2 dinners and just all around mayhem that Thanksgiving brings. We are going to go visit our families on Saturday instead.

E also bought me a paper shredder on Friday. I spent a good portion of Friday afternoon shredding stuff. (NERD)

I also managed to unpack all of my grandma's china that my mom gave me last year. I washed it all and found a safe place to store it. We will be using it for dinner on Thanksgiving.

I don't have to wear dress clothes to work until January. I work in a Corporate office and rarely happens so I am excited.

Lizzie sent me a package yesterday! Inside there was a baseball cap, an Eiffel Tower key chain, some dog treats for TJ and and my very own Ugly Doll!

Laurie has posted about these Michael Kors platform pumps a couple of times and I have wanted them forever. I was hesitant about paying full price for them, but yesterday she posted that they were half off at Nordstorm. I decided to treat myself to an early Christmas gift and ordered them up! She has great taste in shoes. She is the one that introduced me to the booties from Kohl's too. Those weren't meant to be unfortunately, but I love her taste in shoes.

WW is not going so well. I really need to get back on track. I have a new goal that I am shooting for. Another gift to myself is going to be a gym membership. I HATE the gym, but I don't have the cash to get a treadmill right now so to the gym I go.

I have had a very strange craving for bananas lately. Very strange.

I am starting to get excited for Christmas. Even though there is no snow yet.

Funniest GAP Ads Ever...

You might have to click the pictures to enlarge the comments. Too funny. Plus, Will Forte is cute. I love him almost as much as John Krasinski.

Love It...

How cute is this picture?!?!? I love the outfit. It looks so cozy. I have been eyeing up that sweater for awhile now, but it is made of wool so it wasn't meant to be. I need to find a cotton replica. The jeans, socks and scarf however are totally doable. GAP always has the cutest Christmas campaigns. Last year they had a cute picture of Jim from The Office and this year they have a really funny picture of Dwight. I have both hanging in my cube from work. They match my Dwight Bobblehead.

I saw this sweater on BlueFly's website. How cute are the ruffles? I think this would be a cute shirt for work. It is still polished and professional with a little bit of an edge. I may just have to break my spending freeze (like I already haven't) and pick it up. It would go great with my new tuxedo pants from GAP and those cute shoes from Kohl's.

I found out last night that my little brother has Facebook. So weird.

Hhhh...

Last work day for the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am 99.9% sure that it will drag on like the rest of this week, but at least it is the end.

Tomorrow I have a list of things that I would love to get done. They include
- getting the CV Boot on my front tire fixed

- go to Slumberland to order my new dresser

- hit up Kohl's for those cute shoes I posted yesterday

-swing by GAP to see if that top I posted yesterday looks as good in person as it does online, if it does, buy it

- check out Marshall's or TJ Maxx to see if I can finally spend those gift cards my mom got me for my birthday

-get rid of the junk clothes in my closet

- do more laundry

- clean the rest of my house

In other news I think I am down another pants size. I ordered a pair of pants the other day and realized they were 1 size down from what I have been currently wearing. For the hell of it I decided to try them on, even though I was expecting them not to. Low and behold, they fit! I will be wearing them to work today with a cute top and a cardigan.

I Want...

Oh Goodness...

I completely forgot to mention in my post yesterday that after all of the junk eating over the weekend I was down 2 lbs. After 6 weeks of not losing a single pound and feeling like I was starving myself I eat a bunch of crap and I lose weight.

Lily posted this fun little game on her blog and I asked her to include me. She gave me a letter and I need to post 10 things that start with that letter. She gave me the letter M since we both love Minneapolis. : ) If you want to play leave me a comment and I will share a letter with you.

M

Minneapolis (cheating I know)

Meatloaf

Music

Magazines

Madonna

Money

Metallica (strange I know)

Manatees

Melon

My Mom

Wow, that was kinda hard!

Work is still draining me beyond belief. I am glad that I have to work 4 days a week for the next few weeks. Hurray for PTO and holidays! I really need to come up with some more interesting things to post about.

How I Spent My Weekend...

Why does the weekend always go by so fast?!?!?

I had to work from 8-4:30 Saturday which sucked balls. I hate having to get up that early in the morning : ( Work was long and miserable just like I expected. We did order Chipotle for lunch which was awesome and not WW friendly.

Saturday night E made frozen pizza, garlic bread and Light Caesar salad for dinner. Again, not so WW friendly. Some friends came over which I wasn't too thrilled about since I was tired, but we played a board game called ThinkBlots that E's mom bought us a few years ago, watched some SNL etc. Everyone else was drinking but I decided to have a alcohol free weekend.

Yesterday E and I went out for lunch (A&W) which was also good for my attempt to lose weight. We also stopped at Home Depot to get some junk that E needed for our house. We also ended up purchasing some more flower bulbs since some animal decided to tunnel under our fence and dig up all 150 of our crocus bulbs we planted last weekend plus a bunch of tulips, hyacinth and lilies.

After the outside stuff was finished I did a crap load of laundry, went through a bunch of old clothes, managed to fill 1 large trash bag with clothes and shoes and another with just plain trash. I organized my closet, rearranged my shoes and purses and cleaned our room. In the process I also managed to commander the 2 shelves in E's closet plus the majority of his clothes rack. He was surprisingly ok with that though. I promised him I would go through my closet on Friday and get rid of some more stuff. I was going to do that last night but I didn't have the energy.

I really hope that this week goes by quickly. Only 3 more days left before my long weekend. This weekend we will be having people over to watch the UFC fight. I will also be cleaning the rest of our house. It really needs it. I might also have to purchase a bottle of champagne for this weekend. I haven't had a bottle since last winter. I will keep myself limited to 1 bottle this time though.

Vom...

Today was a pretty bad day.

We found out today at work that at least 84 people were let go. Luckily I wasn't one of them. Unfortunately I know quite a few of the people that did. Needless to say today was pretty somber at work. The whole situation also didn't help to sooth the stress I already feel.

I had to change my day off this week too so E and I will be doing our date night a bit early. It is kind of nice though because we usually go out after I get home from work on Tuesday so we will get another night out this week.

I am starting to feel really strapped for cash. I am going to be putting myself on a spending freeze. It is going to be tough I know, but it is something that I need to do. I need to focus on paying down my credit cards and not worry about buying new clothes and crap.

I have been planning on going through my closet and getting rid of clothes I don't wear anymore. I was planning on donating them, but I might take them to a 2nd hand store for some cash.

Relaxed...

This weekend was great. Friday I had the day off so I did some light cleaning, caught up on some TV, went grocery shopping and prepped the food for the party. We ended up serving meatball sandwiches, baked artichoke dip, veggies, dill dip and chips and salsa. We spent pretty much the entire night playing the new Guitar Hero game. Last night we had a group of people over again, we played P and A and listened to a bunch of classic rock. Fun times.

I have to work this coming weekend so I will have Friday off again. E and I have a date night planned. Dinner and a movie.

I cannot wait until Tuesday is over. I am so tired of seeing all of the political commercials. The Al Franken/Norm Coleman battle is the worst.

We think we have another bat in the house. This will make 5 bats in a year and a half of living here. We need to find out where they are getting in and get that fixed.

I kind of fell off the WW wagon this past week and need to get back on. I am going to work really hard this week. Hopefully I see a loss this week. I haven't had one in almost 6 weeks.

Haha...

Last week I wore this sweater, and the pants below it to work. I thought it was a good outfit. Professional, cozy, comfortable.

Evidently my co-workers thoughg it made me look like this guy. Not so sure I will be wearing that outfit to work anytime soon.
