I am going to start off with my work rant. If I have to listen to my paranoid conspiracy theorist co-worker talk about this bailout thing anymore I am going to flip my lid. He is just getting ridiculous and annoying. I can't handle it anymore. The thing that drove me over the line though was him bashing the Twins. (I know right?) I wish that he would just keep his negative comments about everything to himself. I really wish there was a polite way to tell someone to shut to eff up.
On my way home from work tonight I got a flat tire. I have run flat tires on my car which helped out since I made it home without incident. I did however have to call AAA to have them come change the tire since I don't know how. (Laugh away...) I have to get up early tomorrow to take my car to get the tire repaired/replaced. Should be fun times. Afterward if I have time I am going to return a pair of pants at GAP and hopefully get a new sweater I have been eyeing up.
I did however get a gift certificate from Nieman Marcus for $100.00 to use on a purse purchase. I thought I would have to spend a certain amount, but I can spend $100.00 and just pay for shipping. I think I might get a Marc Jacobs clutch that I have been wanting for awhile. I am not 100% sure though.
I really want to have a movie party on Halloween. I am thinking some classic scary movies, some fun takeout style food or something along those lines and maybe a fun signature drink. Something fun but not out of control. Even if no one comes I might get some Chinese takeout, and watch movies by myself.

Weekend...
This weekend involved grilling with friends, drinking way too much, and eating way too much fast food (McDonald's and Pizza Hut) Friday I drank a lot on a pretty much empty stomach so the first part of yesterday was miserable, hence all the fast food.
I also finally watched the Sex and the City Movie. It was good! I am glad that everything worked out for everyone in the end.
Today I made some homemade Chicken Tortilla soup. H*dizz sent me the recipe and it was so good. It is cold, cloudy and just all around icky outside today so the soup was the perfect thing.
I am pretty pissed off at WW this week. I lost another 2.5 lbs for a total of 15. When I put my weight in on Friday I got a stern little note letting me know that I am losing weight too fast. Are you kidding me? I started WW in June. It is now September. 15 lbs is too much in that long period of time? On the plus side my pants are getting too big once again. E actually suggested that I buy some new clothes. I think that for the time being new jeans/pants will be purchased from Target. It doesn't make sense to purchase expensive jeans if they won't fit in a few weeks.

Junk...
So I didn't get the day off last Friday. Suck. I did however finagle my way into having part of the day tomorrow and all of Friday off which is awesome. I have to work an hour and a half tomorrow and then I am free!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought the new Kings of Leon CD yesterday and I love it! My new favorite for sure.
I also got the new Joshua Radin and Sugarland CDs, which are also very good.
I went to Target today to get groceries and pet supplies and was fully intending to purchase the Sex and the City movie. I got everything on my list (which rarely happens in one trip) except the f-in movie.
I also realized when I was at Target that the checkout lady probably thought I was some pet obsessed loser. I bought dog and cat food, dog treats, dog toys, and Lean Cuisines. To me that screams girl that lives alone with her menagerie of pets.
I spelled menagerie correctly without looking it up. I rock.
According to People's website, Clay Akin is gay. Really?!?! Never woulda guessed...
I think that Facebook should have an age limit. I had a friend's mom request me as an add the other day. Unfortunately for her that one didn't get approved.
I am going to spend my time off of work clearing out my DVR, getting caught up on the Office from last season and having a few more BBQs before the weather gets too cold.

Inspiration Part 2...
I was telling E today about my new motivation for losing weight and we actually devised a plan. After I reach my total weight loss goal I am actually going to buy that car. I figure that the complete goal will be reached around the same time that I pay off my current car and have enough set aside for a substantial down payment and as a reward to myself that car (or another cute one) will be mine. Even if I decide to keep my old Passat I will still have something to keep me motivated.

Keeping My Fingers Crossed...
I am really hoping that I have a day off tomorrow. I put in the request yesterday and hopefully it is approved. I really want to spend a day getting caught up on cleaning, TV, reading, shopping etc. I am feeling really overwhelmed with everything right now.
I have been so busy though and have been on the move a lot more and that lead to another pound lost. I don't know if I mentioned it before but I stopped drinking soda. It has been 5 days and it has actually gone really well. I have replaced the soda by drinking at least two Nalgenes full or water a day.
I am completely obsessed with the Sesame Chicken Lean Cuisines. They are so delicious!
I read a story that Lizziebelles wrote about her bankerman. It made me really sad. The story was really cute and romantic and it just made me think about E and I. As I mentioned yesterday, I got quite a bit of hair chopped off into a really cute bob. Everyone at work kept telling me how cute it was, the bossman (who everyone thinks has a little crush on me) told me he loved it AND emailed me telling me he loved it. When I got home E didn't even seem to notice. When I asked him about it he said, "its a haircut." It really made me sad that he didn't even say anything about it. Maybe he didn't like it, who knows.
I think we have reached a stage in our relationship where romantic gestures and sappiness have left the building. I am not unhappy in my relationship or anything, there is a comfort level that is reached with another person after 10 years that just makes a relationship different. It just makes me miss the little gestures and stuff. Am I making any sense?
Gotta get ready for work, keeping my fingers crossed that I won't be back there again until Monday...

Haircuts and Needing Advice...
I have always had an odd relationship with my hair. When I was younger my mom cut it super short in a pixie type cut. At the time I hated it, but looking back it was actually pretty cute. For the longest time I wouldn't cut my hair at all. 5th grade rolled around and that stupid mushroom cut was all the rage and I had to have it. After that fad left town I didn't cut my hair again until Freshman year of high school and then had the same hairstyle until freshman year of college when I went back to a super short cut. I am always apprehensive about cutting it too short. My rule of thumb is that it has to be able to be put into a ponytail. That is, until today. I wanted to do something a little bit different, but nothing too extreme. I went to my trusty stylist E and told him what I was thinking. He went over some ideas with me and we decided to do a more angled cut with the back falling between my shoulder blades. I thought he was cutting quite a bit off, but I went with it. I am now rocking a cut almost identical to this one.
The angle isn't as severe, but it is pretty much that short. The strange part? I. LOVE. IT. (PS, that isn't me in the picture)
So anyway, I got to work after the haircut and got an email from my boss asking me to contact someone. At the bottom of the email it said "PS I love the new du. I did my hair today too, can you tell?" Do you guys think that is a little odd?? I wasn't sure what to think. HELP!

Updates...
After 3 weeks of staying at the same weight I FINALLY lost another pound. I really didn't think that it would be so slow moving. I started at the end of June and so far have only lost 11 lbs total. I am seriously starting to get a little frustrated. I am going to try and change things up and pay closer attention to what I eat as well as the points involved.
I have had multiple people tell me that they can notice that I have lost weight. That motivates me quite a bit. I also feel a lot better and I have noticed that even though I haven't lost a ton of weight my body looks different, my clothes all fit differently and I feel better overall.
I finally broke down and bought a new pair of jeans. I also ordered a cozy pair of cords for fall. My other jeans/pants are all starting to get really saggy and look really bad. Hopefully I will soon be going through my clothes and getting rid of a bunch of them. : ) That means new clothes for me!!!!!!!
Work finally started to pick up a little bit. I am pretty happy about that. It was really starting to become unbearable.
Speaking of work, Bossman brought me a catalog called In the Company of Dogs or something like that. It has a bunch of cute stuff like beds, clothes, collars etc. I found a really cute silver doggie bone that can be engraved with a dog's name. I think that I am going to get one for TJ for Christmas. E and I decided that we were going to start an ornament collection last year when we bought our house. Last year E's mom gave us a little house decoration that says "Our First House, 2007" on it. I figured that since we got TJ in 2008 we would make the little doggie bone our ornament for this year.
Oh, I have noticed that some bloggers have been requesting that their lurkers and other readers to leave comments introducing themselves. I have a stat counter and see visitors from all over the world but have the same readers comment all the time. I am really curious who reads this blog. I would L.O.V.E. it if you left a little comment to say hi, even if we already "know" each other : )

Almost Forgot...
I have already mentioned that I love boots. I posted a picture of the J Crew boots I scored a couple of weeks ago, and I posted a picture of the Frye booties that I want to grab soon. Friday before work I made a stop at Target and found two pairs of boots that I had to have.
I picked up these black boots for work. Our office is always cold so I love wearing boots to work in the winter with a thick pair of socks to help keep my feet warm. For some reason I always lose the plastic cap on the heel of my boots and heels so I ususally end up having to replace the boots every year. For this reason, I usually buy them at Target because they are cheap.

The Fall Season...
It looks like the fall season is here. Temps in Minneapolis have dipped into the mid 60s, which sucks considering we were at 90 on Sunday and Monday...
Fall does bring two things I love back into the picture though, new TV and new shoes. I have already started on my fall shoe wish list. This is what I have so far...
Really want these Frye boots!
2nd favorite by Kenneth Cole.

As far as TV is concerned I already have my calendar full of show premieres. (I know, I am a nerd.) I already watched the Gossip Girl premiere (LOVED) and have 90210 saved on my DVR. I am excited to see what Privileged, Fringe and the Rachel Zoe shows are about next week as well. After that some old standbys start up and then some more new shows. Some other new shows that I will be checking out are The Mentalist, The Ex List, Eleventh Hour and The Starter Wife. Hopefully they are worthwhile shows.

Enough...
I am already sick of hearing about Barak Obama being the savior of the world, John McCain being old, Sarah Palin's daughter being knocked up etc... I wish that this election would come and go so life could get back to normal. I am making a promise to not talk politics on my blog. I promise to keep posts chock full of mindless nonsense : )
I am really glad that this work week is short. It sucked having to go back to work today. I will be glad when this week is over and things can go back to normal (meaning all of the Republicans will have gone home and I can once again travel around Minneapolis freely)
This past weekend was a blast. We didn't really do anything Friday night. We had planned on going to BW3, but there was a high school football game and the place was overrun with 16 year olds. We ended up going to Applebee's and then went home to watch some TV. Saturday A, J and N came over, we grilled, sat out on the patio for a bit, had some drinks and then played an awesome game of Asshole. By 1 am we were all pretty shit canned. J and N both crashed at our place so Sunday morning we got up, drank a bunch of coffee, sat out on the patio and soaked up some sun and then went to BW3 for lunch. After that J went home, N came back to our place and we again just sat outside, read the paper and had some drinks. That night we grilled some halibut and some sea bass and had a few more drinks. After dinner everyone decided to call it a night (since we are all 80 apparently.) E and I ended up watching The Bank Job, a few episodes of CSI Miami and then hit the hay.
This weekend we have plans to get some gyros and possibly see a movie. I also really need to do laundry and clean my house. I will also be cooking up those recipes I planned on cooking up this past weekend. I did make some pepper and mushroom kabobs with a Greek yogurt sauce that were so yummy. More on that later.
