Grilled breakfast didn't go over well. at. all. E grilled hash browns and bacon. Everything was charred and nasty. We attempted half assed breakfast burritos. Not good. Also I learned that I can no longer drink Bloody Mary's. Sad holla. I had a couple of sips and started feeling really sick.
I made myself a iced caramel latte. God Bless you Tassimo. Best money I ever spent.
I ran to PetCo, Target and Cub Foods for grilling essentials etc. I also had to grab the new issue of Minnesota Monthly since my subscription hasn't started yet. I also stopped at Fridley Liquors to grab some High Life Light and some Leinie's Summer Shandy.
I love being able to drive with my sunroof open! Nothing is better than being on the road with the sun shining in and good music blasting. Utter perfection.
I am currently annoyed with E. He is insisting on listening to Korn really really loud. Our family room has very large Cerwin Vega speakers which is nice for the TV and maybe some classic rock, but I hate hate HATE when he blasts hip hop, rap and metal from those things. I cannot escape it anywhere in the house.
I don't know if I mentioned it or not but we are getting a new TV tomorrow. Super excited!!!
Anyway, gotta go. I guess we are in a tornado watch so we have to unplug everything. Yay! No more Korn!!!

Yippee!!!
The weekend is here!!!
Still not sleeping well. Last night E was talking (screaming) in his sleep and my pup kept having nightmares as well. The silver lining is that I finished Bitter is the New Black. That is 2 books in one week. I am going to read Bright Lights, Big Ass next. I still have more books on my Amazon wish list so hopefully I can tear through the one's I have and get some more.
I got an email from Burberry letting me know my shoes have shipped. I also have stuff coming from American Eagle and GAP. Sweet!
I got a dress from Target yesterday. Super cute, but the skirt on it makes my hips look huge. I have to get it tailored, the waist is too big and the the top is as well. Hopefully it isn't weird to get a Target dress tailored.
Work went so slow this week, but I think it was because I actually had plans for the weekend. We didn't make it to the Farmer's Market, but they don't really have a lot of stuff yet so we will go some other weekend. E is going to try grilling his brunch soon and I will be making up some Bloody Marys. Tonight we are going to be grilling as well. Yum!
I cancelled my appointment with Ethan yesterday. I need to decide what I want to do first. I hate going in there without a plan. I have a day off next week since I work Saturday. I rescheduled for then.
I hope that my weekend goes as well as I am hoping, but if not at least its the weekend.

Not Much Better...
I am still in a grouchy mood. Blah... I am going to do another bullet list. I have some random odds and ends that I want to talk about, but I don't have enough for a full post.
- I got these lovely shoes today. On sale. Yippee!!!
- I had sushi for dinner tonight. Unfortunately it was grocery store sushi. Good, but not like the real stuff.
- Luckily I have plans to go out for real sushi with N and his gf J on Sunday. If they bail I will go by myself. I NEED sushi. Stat.
- The a-hole guy at work that told me he didn't like me? The one that was hooking up with the Gnat? Yeah, so he is now blaming his late hours at work for his marriage falling apart. He is trying to get earlier hours. Umm... I am sure the fact that you cheated on your wife has NOTHING to do with your marriage falling apart. Jackass.
- I am getting really excited about this weekend.
- It finally rained which made E happy.
- E still isn't sleeping well which means I am not sleeping well. I did get started on Bitch is the New Black. It is really funny so far. I know I said that I was going to Celebutantes, but I decided that I needed something funny.
- I had the Asian Crunch salad today from the 100 calorie stuff. It was not good. I think I will stick with the Caesar salad.
- Someone at work actually pooped on the toilet seat. How nasty is that?
- We have to get a dog license for TJ. It is going to cost $200.00. STUPID!
- I am in desperate need of new music. NEED NEW MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sleepy...
I am just sitting here at work, trying to to fall asleep. I was up until almost 4 am because I couldn't sleep. TJ was hogging the bed, E was sweating up a storm, and I just couldn't get comfy. The good news is I actually read the book If I am Missing or Dead cover to cover. Woot! The book was ok, I should have read something else though. I don't know why I decided to read that before bed. Anyway, I think I am going to start Celebutantes next. I am cranky today, but I am surprisingly chipper as well. Strange combination I tell you. I am kind of missing making lists, so in honor of me being sleepy and crabby/happy I am going to make a list of stuff that I love/am looking forward to.
- Dole's new 100 calorie salads. Last night I had the Caesar side with grilled salmon and tonight I had the Roasted Red Pepper and pasta. Tomorrow I think I am going to try the Asian Crunch with chicken. Yum! (I am having the salads as a side dish to those other items btw)
- E and I have plans to grill every meal this weekend. We are in talks of grilling hash browns, sausage, bacon etc for breakfast complete with delicious Bloody Mary's. I will hopefully be making halibut kabobs for dinner with a delicious margarita. Again, Yum!
- I have begun to update my summer wardrobe. I had to get some new stuff from GAP.
- I have an appointment for a haircut on Friday with Eth. Cannot wait. 1. I love him. 2. I have juicy news for him. 3. He does amazing things for the straw that is my hair.
- I need to color my hair as well. I am getting sick of the plain Jane brunette, I am thinking of changing it up. I am really thinking about going red like Julianne Moore, but I think that is too drastic. I have no idea... I will probably stick with brunette.
- I am tired of people complaining about the mice at work, I want to catch them and keep them in a little cage on my desk. My boss has already given the ok. I would name them Milton and Millie. They would be my work pets. Sweet! (In case you are wondering about the mice, someone brought pet store mice in and let them loose as a joke. They have now taken over our floor. For some reason facilities are unable to trap/exterminate them so we just have tons of little critters running around. They are pets feeding off of treats people leave in their desks. I am pretty sure they are disease free.)

Back At It...
This past weekend was heavenly. 100% pure heaven. Friday night my friend N and his new girlfriend J came over, the 4 of us sat out on the patio for awhile, had a few beers and just relaxed and talked. Saturday morning E and I woke up early, planted our veggie garden (lettuce, radishes, corn, Brussels Sprouts, peas, and cantaloupe) we also planted some marigolds and more of the plants that E and I got at the plant sale etc. Later on that evening our friends A and C came over, we grilled salmon, lettuce salad, pasta salad and chicken. I also made some yummy margaritas. E and I just chilled on Sunday. I finally got around to watching Waitress (loved) we just had a nice night together alone. That night we made some drinks and sat out on the patio enjoying the weather. Yesterday E and I grilled cheeseburgers for lunch and chicken for dinner. We caught up on some TV shows and just enjoyed time together. Unfortunately we had to go back to work today. I am already wishing for the weekend. Hopefully there will be more grilling, more margaritas and some warm weather. Last night was so cold I almost wanted to start a fire in the fireplace. I am also hoping to get some sushi at some point this weekend. Not Super Target sushi, real yummy sushi. Hopefully I can convince N to go with me, otherwise I will go on my own. I will also be getting Juno and 27 Dresses. Hopefully I will get a lot of stuff done this weekend.
At some point soon I need to figure out some info about Mutual Funds. I don't know who I need to talk to or decide which ones I want to invest in. I have 100 free trades a year with my bank account so I am thinking of taking advantage of them. I just don't know what I am supposed to be doing.

Just A Quick Update (Or Maybe A Long One)...
C&B was in the stat counter again! They should maybe chillax a bit, or they should start sending me things. Like one of their little couches to go in the family room, or one of their gorgeous entertainment centers for my living room. I have no bad words for you C&B, so CALM DOWN!
I got the patio table assembled minus the broken chair and the other swivel rocker. I just didn't have time. It looks good though. Once we finish up a few loose ends our backyard is going to look great.
I am seriously contemplating getting some JJ's (Jimmy Johns for those of you that don't know) for lunch. They are kind of healthy right? I am also bringing a sandwich for dinner tonight. Ugh! Work is going to be so boring today. No one is going to call, its the holidays. Oh well, I will get caught up on 3 months of Glamour.
I subscribed to Mpls. St Paul Magazine and Minnesota Monthly yesterday. I like reading about the cities. I read a bunch of their back issues in the MRI waiting room on Wednesday. I also subscribe to Metro Magazine which is pretty good, but Mpls. St Paul has a wider selection of topics.
I am super excited for tomorrow. I am going to grill up some fish, cook up some veggies, drink some yummy drinks and just relax outside. Rumor has it is may reach the big 8-0 tomorrow which just makes my heart sing!!!!!!

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND FRIENDS!!!!!!!!
Whoa...
Ok, major update on the situation with my friend that I posted about last week. I was kind of curious if she made it to NYC ok and I felt a little bad about what happened last week. I wasn't sure if I wanted to call her or not so I decided to check out her Facebook page. I noticed that she posted that she was living in SD instead of in NY. It also said that she was moving to Houston at the end of June. I thought it was a little weird so I decided to call her. She told me that she ended up moving to SD because her boyfriend left. I asked her what she meant and she told me that he said he was going to get someone to help them load up the rest of their stuff and that he never came back. How messed up is that? She told me that she was sorry about the way she acted and that she now knows I was just looking out for her and that she should have listened to me. I kind of figured out what had happened before we talked and was seriously thinking "I told you so." When I actually talked to her though I just couldn't. I felt really bad for her. Hopefully now that that loser is gone we can rebuild our friendship.
I was checking my stat counter again today and I noticed that there were a bunch of hits from someone at Crate and Barrel. I wonder if they track their name somehow. I am going to wait until tomorrow and see if they have looked again.
I took my patio set out of its boxes today and realized that one of the chair bases is broken. I called Home Depot and they said they would send me a new one. I will have it all set up for my cookout on Saturday though. Hopefully the weather stays nice for the weekend's events.

How To Tell If You Are Obsessed With Blogging...
Last night I had a dream that I was supposed to meet some blog friends in person for the first time. I was really excited because I like their blogs and I thought we would make great friends in real life as well. I got to the meeting place, said hi, and one of them told me that they couldn't be friends with me because they didn't like my pants. How weird right! Hopefully that wouldn't happen in real life because I would be devastated.
Yesterday I tried the Mint Mocha Chip Frappacino from Starbucks. I don't know why the word mint is in the title. The one I had didn't taste like mint at all. It was still delicious, but I was let down with every taste because there was no mint.
My patio set arrived today. It is sitting in two large boxes in the garage. I will more than likely put it together on Saturday since it is dark when I get home. Maybe I will get up early tomorrow to start putting it together. Did I mention that I am going to learn how to install tile? I am going to do a tile backsplash in the kitchen. I should probably pick out new cabinets and stuff first since I also want to have those redone. I might also do tile floors in the kitchen. It will look great once it is all finished. I got paint samples from Home Depot yesterday. E doesn't like any of the colors. He wants to paint the room a bright color. I am not a fan of bright colors on the walls. I told him we could do gray on the walls and use bright colors as accents. He took that to mean painting the baseboards the bright color. He is in for a sad sad day very soon. Walls will be gray or some offset of it and the baseboards will be white. Accents will be red since his mom and dad bought us the red futon already and we can't take it back.

Updates and Such...
I haven't been in the greatest of moods as of late so I decided to not post for a bit. With everything happening with my ex-friend, work, E's back etc I have just been grouchy. This past weekend was pretty nice though. The weather was great, we got to grill again and it was just pretty relaxing. E's parents came up Saturday afternoon for lunch. We had NY strips, salad and grilled potatoes. Saturday night our friends A and N came over to have a few drinks and grill again. I made grilled salmon and a packet of yellow squash and zucchini. It was really good. The rest of the weekend was pretty relaxed. N stayed the night at our house so he and I hung out in the morning reading the paper, drinking coffee and hanging outside with TJ. That afternoon E and I just ate lunch, watched some TV and relaxed. Monday I went with him to a doctor appointment to get his back checked out where we found out that he needed an MRI. I took the day off of work today to go with him. I guess he has some discs in the wrong place and some nerves that are out of whack so they gave him a shot of steroids in his spine. We both took the rest of the day off. I went to Home Depot to get a grill, some potting soil and some plants. When I got home E and I planted the annuals I bought, planted some stuff that we got earlier and put the grill together. I cooked us a nice home cooked meal and now we are just catching up on some TV again. Since this whole back issue started last week we have been eating better, we decided to cut fast food out all together, cut back on drinking and to start getting some more exercise. So far we have been doing really well with everything. So far this week we have had grilled chicken, leftover salmon, some salads, steamed veggies, cereal, etc. Tonight we had a wild rice blend, roast pork, and Organic Girl Caesar salad. I ordered Chilean sea bass and halibut from Simon Delivers so I will be making that this weekend. Hopefully we can continue this trend. I still need to get my gym membership. I have been lazy and I keep putting it off. This coming weekend we are going to grill, do more yard work, put our patio table together and have some people over. I may also try to get my hair cut. Ethan is going to kill me! I haven't been in since February or March, I haven't had my hair colored in well over 3 months, I have some ugly gray (I have been getting grays since I was 19! ICK!) showing and I have just all in all let my hair grow. I will also color it this weekend if I get a chance. I am thinking of changing it up a bit though. I ordered a patio umbrella from Crate and Barrel for the table (originally $200.00, I got it for $49.00) I also ordered a cute citronella candle and a pair of kitchen tongs. Anyway, there is my fantastic update. I will try to update sooner this time : )

Update...
I figured I would update about what happened this afternoon after my first post. After I clicked the Publish Post button I really thought about what I had written. I realized that if I don't say anything that the trend will continue. I realized that people think they can walk all over me and take advantage of my generosity because I never say anything. First I sent her a text message asking why she didn't call me back like she said she was going to, then she called me and we had it out. I told her that I was sick of our friendship being one sided unless she wants something. I told her that I was tired of her ditching me and backing out on plans because of her stupid ass boyfriend, and that I figured that if she had enough money to have a car stereo installed that she had the money to pay me what she owes me. She actually had the audacity to say that because I make more money than her she shouldn't have to pay me back. I also am pretty sure that she referred to me as "Ms. Moneybags" at some point in the conversation. She then proceeded to tell me that she was pissed at me because I bailed on her earlier today and that I came up with all sorts of excuses to not hang out with her and that she wasn't going to beg for my friendship. I never once said that I wasn't going to hang out with her. I told her that I wasn't going to drive her around and I told her that I had to be home by 4 because I was picking E up at work and then we were going to look at the entertainment center we wanted to buy. I of course being the cry baby that I am started crying and told her that I wasn't trying to be mean, I just wanted to let her know how I felt. She told me that if I wanted my money so bad to send her a text letting her know how much and she would mail me a check when she got to NYC. She told me she couldn't pay me now because, of course, she has no money. GAH! I talked to E about it when I picked him up and he pointed out that she and I may not be that good of friends after she moves anyway because she won't be able to afford to come here to visit and I won't go there because of her boyfriend. It sucks that a friendship may have ended, but as my mom pointed out and as AP has pointed out plenty of times, she wasn't really a good friend in the first place.
In other news, we ended up getting the entertainment center. It looked even better in person. That sucker was heavy though. It is sitting in our garage for the time being because we can't lift it up the stairs. We are going to wait for the 2 Ns to come over to help. Now all I have to do is prime and paint the walls, put up new baseboards, get new window treatments, get one more bookcase, put up the other shelving and get another couch. Basically the entire project. I will more than likely get paint this weekend though and start the painting next weekend. I figure that will take me two weekends to get it primed and painted. (Its a pretty big room.)
I also got to talk to one of my BFFs Laura today which really made me happy. She always knows right when to call. She unfortunately lives in NH so I don't get to see her very often anymore. She was calling to go over tentative plans to come back to MN in the fall though. I may or may not have squeed. (That just sounds gross)

Grrr... (Part II)
As I have mentioned before my friend L is moving to NYC soon. She was supposed to be leaving on Saturday, but now she isn't so sure about that. Anyway, we were talking on Tuesday and she suggested that I call in sick. I have already called in too many times and I told her I wouldn't do it. I said I could take PTO later in the week if she wanted to get together. She suggested doing some shopping and getting lunch. I called her this morning to see what she wanted to do and she started rattling off a list. They included, me driving from Minneapolis to Minnetonka to pick her up at Circuit City because she had to get a new car stereo, then I was supposed to drive her to Wal-Mart because she needed stuff there, then I was supposed to drive her to get more moving boxes and then go back to her apartment and help her clean and pack. I told her that I had stuff to do at home as well and that I didn't want to spend the day just being her chauffeur. I suggested that she go and run the errands that she needed to get done, I would work on the stuff at home that I wanted to do and then we should meet up for lunch. She got really pissy and snotty and said that she had stuff at home to eat and that she didn't want to hang out if I wasn't going to do that stuff. She actually said she would let me think about it and call me back later. WTF! I am so pissed. The way I see it, she didn't even care if she got to see me one last time before she moved across the country with her loser ass boyfriend, she just wanted someone to cart her ass around all day. I am also pretty pissed because she STILL owes me money and if she has enough money to put a stereo in her car, she should have enough money to pay me back. Grr!!! I really just want to call her up and bitch her out right now, but I know I won't. I just cannot say what I want like that because I am afraid of being mean. Seriously, what is wrong with me?

Perfect...
I have mentioned before that I am planning on redoing our family room in the upstairs of our house. I have been looking for a smaller entertainment center for the new TV we are planning on getting later this summer. I was looking for something similar to this, but for a lower price. I scoured Craigslist last night at work and found this same entertainment center for $800.00. That is a nice discount from the $1200.00 retail price, but still a little steep.

After searching a little bit more I found this. There is a little bit more metal on this one, but I think that for the $250.00 price tag it is absolutely perfect.

Grrr...
I wish that I didn't have to worry about getting fired if I post too much about work. I would really love to vent right now. I am in a constantly pissy mood. I complain to E about work when I get home, I dread going in some days. On top of being stressed out about work, I am constantly worried about money. I think about it all the time. I am glad that I am not as bad off as some other people. I grew up without a lot of money, I remember growing up that going back to school shopping for clothes was done a garage sales. We never had the expensive toys that other people at school had. I think the first time we had an old school Nintendo was when I was in 8th grade. Going out to eat happened very infrequently and a lot of times we ate Hamburger Helper, hot dish and lots of stuff that went a long way with very few ingredients. My parents have never owned a new car, they cut coupons, they don't spend money foolishly. They bought their first house when I was in 2nd grade. They had to scrape by a lot of times, but I learned that money isn't everything. I know it seems like I spend money constantly, but I save, I never put my house, my bills or my car at risk. I know that if I have to tighten the belt that I can do it. I know that even on a base salary that I can pay my mortgages, my car payments and my other bills. I just still worry all the time. I don't know if that worry ever ever goes away. Hopefully it won't be this bad forever.

Embarrassing..
I stopped at Super Target before work to get some new bed sheets and to get sushi for lunch. I walked into the store, slipped on something on the floor and fell flat on my face. I banged up my knee and now am in a lot of pain. What makes it worse is there were a lot of people in the deli area at this time and they all saw me. I was planning on getting Starbucks on my way out but since I ate it right in front of there shop I picked up my sushi, my sheets and my Food and Wine magazine and hightailed it out of there. I am seriously going to have to find another place to purchase sushi and get my coffee. At least for a few days.
Work went really well today. I mean really really well. It was kind of out of the ordinary, but it was nice.

Stat Counter...
Stat Counter is kind of creepy. Who is the person that looked at my blog 11 times yesterday that came through thestoryofagirl.wordpress.com? I also wanted to say hi to the person that checked in 16 times from Westwood CA. Why don't you all leave comments? I guess we all have our blog stalkers huh? Oh well. As long as you like reading keep on coming back. Just leave a comment and say hi.
I Bought...

I know that Croc's are ugly. However, I need some comfy breathable shoes to wear when I am working in my yard. I hate wearing regular sandals or tennies to mow because we have a reel mower and my shoes end up getting stained. It also isn't the safest thing to have expose toes when you have exposed rotating blades moving at a fast pace. I also don't like getting my sandals covered in dirt when I am in the flower beds. Speaking of flower beds and gardens, does anyone know any recipes that call for basil other than pesto and Caprese salad? I got 12 basil plants at that plant sale on Friday. I also got some heirloom tomato plants. I can't wait until I can actually eat them. Then all I need is some fresh mozzarella and balsamic. Hopefully it warms up soon. I need to start planning the 2nd annual kabob party.

Frustration...
WARNING!!! BORING GARDEN/HOUSE TALK AHEAD!!!
E and I got up early to get stuff from Menard's and Home Depot that we needed. We were going to rent a truck from Menard's since we were going to get a new storm door, patio furniture, a patio umbrella, a bunch of garden soil and possibly a Japanese red maple. We were unable to do so since my car is insured under my parents address instead of my own. We abandoned the patio furniture idea and decided to get the soil on Sunday instead of today. We made the trek to Home Depot to get the storm door we wanted and to check out their furniture. We decided to get a different set than originally planned, and to just get the door and some random things we needed and go home. The freaking door didn't fit all the way into the car. We ended up just tying the trunk shut, but my Passat doesn't have a loop to tie through so we tied it through the trunk latch that could have unlatched at any second. We made it home safely and I just ordered the patio junk online and will pay the $60.00 to have it shipped. I think that E is finally starting to understand why I want a bigger vehicle. Especially since we have to make yet another trip to get dirt and the remaining items we need. We also need to get 2 other doors. I will just rent a truck from Enterprise or somewhere to get those though. No more trying to maneuver them into my car.
I saw this today and I thought it was funny. I also thought I would share it with you all.
A woman from Minnesota and another from the East coast were seated side by side on an airplane. The woman from Minnesota, being friendly and all, said: "So, where are you from?" The East coast woman said, "From a place where they know better than to use a preposition at the end of a sentence." The woman from Minnesota sat quietly for a few moments and then replied: "So, where are you from, bitch?"
Anyway, we are off to lunch and then to the giant plant sale. Hopefully I can convince E to take me to a nice dinner and then maybe watch a movie. Probably not though, since he will want to work in the gardens. Happy Friday!

Major Annoyance...
So I have this coworker that is apparently into conspiracy theories in a major way. To each his own is my philosophy, but I am getting really sick and tired of him talking about them all the time, especially since most of them don't make any sense. He keeps blabbering on and on about them and when I try to tell him that he doesn't make sense he keeps telling me how stupid I am. He actually lectured me on my dog being micro chipped because the government can track me through the chip. I guess if they want to monitor my a yellow lab's whereabouts more power to them. Any weird thing that happens has some sort of conspiracy. Not only is it obnoxious having to listen to him, its also annoying that he doesn't do his job half the time. He is either talking about that garbage or he is talking to his wife. He actually said today after he got off a 30 minute phone call with one friend that he should probably call another friend to take up his last half hour at work. I guess I don't really care what other people do at work as long as it doesn't affect my job. Because he was making personal calls I had to stay late to answer actual business calls. At another point today he said, I took my 20 calls, I am just going to kick back, watch the game and not do anything the rest of the night. Wow, don't overexert yourself. What an a-hole. I am really tempted to talk to my boss about it, but I don't really know what to say. I don't want to sound like a tattletale, but I am really getting pissed off. I don't enjoy coming home in a bad mood and I don't like having to do twice the work and stay late to do someone else's workload because they aren't. The other major annoyance today was a lady that cut me off on the freeway by crossing the double white lines which is one of my major MAJOR pet peeves.
I cannot wait until my day off on Friday. I also get to see my mom and dad on Sunday which should be fun. I have to think of something to get my mom for a Mother's Day gift. I am not good at buying gifts for other people. Maybe I will get her a subscription to a magazine that she likes or a bird book. If anyone has any suggestions for gifts or what I should do about the work thing let me know. I am all ears.

Finally Spring...
The weather report that I read on Friday said that snow was a possibility for Friday and Saturday. It was a nice surprise to wake up at 6:30 yesterday morning to find that it was sunny and somewhat warm out. I attempted to make the short trek to my parents house, but the freeway was closed and the detour was a mess and a half so I called my dad, asked what he thought I should do and he suggested I just find my way back to my house and come another weekend. They are going to come up next Sunday instead which is awesome of them. After I managed to find my way back to where I started from on the detour I decided since I was already awake that I would stop and get E and I some breakfast and then do stuff around the house before I met up with L. She and I got together, did some shopping and grabbed some delicious sushi for lunch. We went to this store where I got a pair of Mystique sandals for $21.00! The also had a pair of Prada espadrilles that I really wanted, but unfortunately they were too small. So sad. There was also a Cole Haan wallet that I came really close to buying, but I decided not to. I didn't even know that the store existed before, but it is in my old neighborhood next to the wine shop that I love, so I am sure that I will be visiting there a lot more often now. I also went to a really cute pet shop and bought the big T some salmon treats he loves, a new toy and a little doggie birthday cake since he turned 5 yesterday. It was also our one month anniversary so I wanted to do something nice for him. (Yes, I am a dork) Last night my friends JB and C came over, we ate pizza and played Mario Kart. Today E and I went out for lunch, went to Menard's to check out the patio set I want to get and then went to Home Depot to get garden soil, lumber and some other junk that we needed. The people that owned my house before me left these giant urns in the backyard and we couldn't figure out what to do with them. I saw a premixed planter at Home Depot that looked like it would fit perfectly inside (it did) and E used some random wood laying around to make a little makeshift garden around one of the urns. We are going to plant low growing Canna lilies and some annuals around it to make a mini flower garden in the middle of our patio. I will post pics once it is all finished. I looked at some herbs for my other planters but decided to wait until the plant sale on Friday to see what I can pick up there. I am mainly going to go with basil and parsley this year since I planted a wide mix of stuff last year and didn't use most of it. The weather is gorgeous and now I cannot wait for it to be like this all the time.

One Year...
I just finished writing this big post about this, but then I decided it was stupid and deleted it. To sum it all up, a year ago today I became a first time homeowner. I can remember almost everything about that day. In all honesty I was scared shitless. Even after a year I am still scared shitless. Owning a home is a huge deal and I still can't believe that I went ahead with it. I constantly ask myself what if this happens? What if that happens? Some days when I come home I walk in and think can't believe that it is really mine. It feels like I am just in someone else's house and that they are going to come and take it away. I don't know how long the feeling is going to last, but hopefully it won't last for another 29 years. Even though I probably won't live here that long, or if I do, I will refinance before then. Anyway...
Alright, let's talk about something else. I had a chicken club chalupa from Taco Bell today. It was delicious. I also decided that I like the Joshua Bell version of The Swan better than the Yo-Yo Ma version. I also listened to Come Down by Bush today. Oh, and Jesus on the Radio by Guster. LOVE IT! L and I finally pinned down plans for Saturday. We are going to grab some sushi at happy hour and then hit up the new Buffalo Exchange that just opened. Hopefully I can find some good deals. There is another designer thrift store that I read about so we are going to check that out too. If I get anything I will let you all know.
